There are only a few weeks left until the start of this year's summer music school, and we can't wait! Here are a few more things we're looking forward to on this year's course...
1. Lessons with top orchestral players
One of the most exciting opportunities Ingenium students have is to study one-on-one with an expert in their instrument. Our teachers perform in the UK's top orchestras and are among the finest players in the world, and we only invite tutors that we know are great at working with young musicians to help them achieve their potential.

2. A packed schedule of fun evening activities
After a long day's practice or rehearsal, we all need to unwind. Last year's programme included a whole host of evening activities, ranging from film nights, quizzes and talent shows to swing dancing with a live band, and even a sports day.
This year lots of these will return, and our team of Pastoral Staff always have a few tricks up their sleeve! We're excited to see what they come up with...
3. Getting out and about in Winchester and Bournemouth
In addition to a packed musical schedule, we like to get out and experience some British culture and heritage. A walking tour of the ancient and beautiful city of Winchester is always a highlight, featuring the ancient 12th Century castle's great hall, stunning Winchester Cathedral (even older at 1000 around years old), and the city's buzzing high street full of shops and cafés. Read our article Ingenium in Winchester for more about the city.
A little further afield is the seaside town of Bournemouth, where we enjoy a picnic followed by free time to explore, go shopping and even brave the chilly waters of the English channel.
4. Piano recital in Winchester Cathedral
We are always careful to make sure all our students have a chance to perform, and for some of our pianists one of these opportunities is performing for their fellow students in the beautiful and ancient Winchester Cathedral. One of the largest cathedrals in Europe, the cathedral stands a short walk from Winchester College and our lunchtime recital there is very a special experience.
5. Festival Showcase and Garden Party
The climax of three weeks of music-making is our big finale concert - and this year will be bigger than ever, as we are planning a day full of concerts from all the different programmes that make up Ingenium. Families and friends are welcome to join us for the concerts, and are invited to enjoy a guided tour of Winchester College followed by a reception with wine and refreshments.
This is always a big highlight of the course, and this year the celebrations will be bigger than ever - we can't wait to share our plans with you.
2016 students, make sure you fill out the Concert Attendance form that we sent you if your friends and family plan to attend. You can also find it in the Student Area when you log in.
There is still time to apply for Ingenium 2016!
You can still apply to all our courses, but spaces are limited and we operate a first-come-first-served admissions policy - so don't miss out.
